Cérvoles

The base for all our activities is Cérvoles, a stunning village set on a ridge in the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees. The surrounding area, el Pallars, is still pretty wild and unspoilt, full of lakes and rivers which make it excellent for all kinds of water-based fun: swimming, river walking, kayaking, rafting, canyoning and much more!  There are also plenty of other outdoors opportunities: cycling, walking, climbing, horse riding, paragliding, …you name it! And, if you feel like doing nothing more than sipping a gin and tonic whilst reading the latest blockbusting under the shade of an ancient oak tree, then that’s also fine by us. What’s more, for the wildlife lovers amongst you, there is an abundance of animal life: badgers, foxes, pine martins, deer, wild boars… and it’s the only area in Europe where all four of the continent’s vultures can be seen together.

When you book, as part of your welcome package, you’ll receive a detailed list of things to do in the area, our very favourite places, walking and cycling routers and more. Our gallery can give you an idea of what’s on offer.

How to get there

From Barcelona, there are various options:

* By car: As the village is located on top of a mountain, and there is little local public transport, a car is really necessary. It’s a two-and-a-half to three-hour drive. If you don’ t have your own car, it’s a good idea to rent one at the airport (rates are very reasonable), and you can share it with other participants.

* Public transport from Barcelona to La Pobla de Segur (the local market town): by coach (31 euros each way, but if you get a ticket for 5 journeys and share with other participants, each journey is half price)
or by train. From La Pobla de Segur, a local taxi can be arranged or we can come and get you by prior arrangement. From Pobla De Segur, it is a 10-minute drive to Senterada and, from there, it is a 7 km windy road that takes you to Cérvoles.

* The Bla Bla Car car sharing service is another good, and cheap, option and there is also an affordable taxi service from Barcelona to La Pobla de Segur (around 32 euros each way).

If you would like to extend your stay with a few days more in Barcelona, we can help you with accommodation and things to do there: check out the options at www.myft.net

The weather

From March to October the weather is really excellent (never too hot though, since we're at 1,200 metres!). The other months: very sunny in the daytime, somewhat colder at night, with the chance of snow in from December to March.
